Road Test Certificate and Equivalent

49 CFR 391.31, 391.33

A driver must pass a road test in the type of vehicle they will drive before driving for the carrier, unless the carrier accepts a valid CDL (for the class of vehicle) or another carrier's road test certificate issued in the past 3 years in place of it. Most carriers with CDL drivers use the equivalent below; carriers whose drivers operate CMVs that do not require a CDL give the road test.
